Process for  FSSAI license Registration:-

Step 1: Eligibility Check

Ensure that your food business qualifies for Basic FSSAI License. Basic registration is applicable to businesses with an annual turnover of up to Rs. 12 lakhs.

Step 2: Documentation

Gather the necessary documents required for Basic FSSAI License:

  1. Identity Proof:
    • PAN card
    • Aadhar card
    • Passport
    • Voter ID
  2. Passport-sized Photographs:
    • Recent passport-sized photographs of the applicant.
  3. Address Proof:
    • Aadhar card
    • Passport
    • Voter ID
    • Utility bills (electricity bill, water bill, etc.)
  4. Details of the Food Business:
    • Description of the food products to be dealt with.

Step 3: Online Application

  1. Visit the official FSSAI website.
  2. Navigate to the “License/Registration” section.
  3. Fill in the Basic FSSAI License application form with accurate details.
  4. Attach the required documents to the online application.
  5. Submit the application.

Step 4: Payment of Fees

Pay the applicable license fee online. The fee structure may vary, and it’s advisable to check the current fee schedule on the FSSAI website.

Step 5: Application Verification

FSSAI authorities will review your application and documents.

Step 6: Inspection (if applicable)

For Basic FSSAI License, inspections are generally not mandatory. However, authorities may conduct an inspection based on the risk associated with the nature of the food business.

Step 7: Issuance of FSSAI License

Once the verification is successful and, if applicable, the inspection is satisfactory, the Basic FSSAI License will be issued. This license is generally issued within 7 to 30 days.

Step 8: Display of FSSAI License

Display the FSSAI License at the place of business, ensuring it is prominently visible to customers.

Important Points to Note:

  • Renewal: Basic FSSAI License is typically valid for one to five years. Ensure timely renewal to avoid penalties.
  • Compliance: Adhere to the food safety and hygiene standards outlined by FSSAI to ensure the safety of the food products you handle.

  7. Constitution of the Business:
    • For partnerships, provide a copy of the partnership deed. For companies, provide a copy of the memorandum and articles of association.
  8. Food Safety Management System Plan:
    • An outline of the procedures and processes in place to ensure food safety.
  9. NOC from Municipality or Panchayat:
    • No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the local municipal or panchayat office.
  10. Source of Milk or Meat (if applicable):
    • If your business involves the handling of milk or meat, provide details of the source.
  11. FSMS Plan:
    • A Food Safety Management System (FSMS) plan outlining the measures in place for ensuring food safety.
